Casino spending drops in Illinois

Consumers spent $1.57 billion in Illinois casinos in 2008, a 21 percent drop from 2007 and the steepest decline among 12 U.S. gambling markets due partly to the state's smoking ban, said an American Gaming Association study released Monday.
